Description

UPDATED BIO HERE: fav.me/d9rsldf

((A/N: The Lauren and Seanne in the image are not scaled to eachother. She doesn't get that much taller))

Name: Lauren Serena Wilds

Alter Ego: Seanne

Age: 15

Birthday: August 26th

Height: 4'9" (5'11" in Archeio)

Core: Writing. She participates in as many short story contests as she can and is working on a graphic novel with some friends (she does the plot, some of the worldbuilding, and most of the dialogue while the other two illustrate, worldbuild, and come up with most of the characters, though she feels like she takes it more seriously than them), as well as a novel on her own.

Armor Style: It's currently just a taller, tougher, human-looking sort of deal, easy to build on as time goes on

Weapon(s):

-Speech Bubble, a nigh ever-present speech bubble which displays everything she says (kind of annoying sometimes, like if she wanted to whisper . . . ). It is used in most of her abilities. In a pinch, she can also pull it out of the air and just block or hit stuff with it. She's got to watch her grammar with it, though . . . The speech bubble gets agitated with typos and grammatical errors.

Abilities:

  • Onomatopoeia (Aggressive): With a swipe of her hand, she pulls out little blank discs which, when thrown at opponents, erupt into onomatopoiea (BAM, POW, WHAM, POP, SMACK, WHOOSH, etc.) in small word bubbles of varying shape (but usually spiked) and color.

  • Narration (Passive): Basically setting manipulation. She narrates an event, and it happens. However, she can only affect things that are in her power range, for instance having a rock fall that could potentially cause an avalanche rather than suddenly saying that all of her adversaries were buried under tons of immovable rock.

  • Thought Cloud (Defensive): Summons a thought cloud, separate from her speech bubble, which can get in the way of a blow or cushion a fall. The downside is that it openly displays her thoughts- ALL of them. The longer she keeps it up, the more thoughts are displayed.

Pet: None (yet . . . )

Likes:

-Honesty (blunt, straight up, semi-sugar-coated, roundabout, as long as it’s honest)

-Making/having friends

-Critique

-Spontaneity (usually someone else’s in RL, more of her own in Archeio)

-Chocolate

-Strawberries

-Bananas

-The previous three all at the same time

Dislikes:

-Really loud and/or repetitive noise

-Legitimately mean people

-Cliches

-Meaningless feedback (unspecific or dishonest)

-Complete silence

-Cold (cold food, cold air conditioning, cold water)

Strengths:

-Naturally good at phrasing things (. . . most of the time)

-Easy to make/be friends with

-Has a knack for knowing when people are being dishonest

-Isn’t scared easily

Weaknesses:

-Clumsy (equilibriumally challenged)

-Has extreme difficulty with the middle of anything (beginnings and eventualities are easy, anything in between is hard)

-Too much faith in the first draft

-Hesitation

Goals:

-To get her friends’ graphic novel published

-To complete her own novel, whether she ends up publishing or not

-To move back to Mississippi (she just knows it’ll happen eventually . . .)

Fears:

-Being crushed

-Losing someone she cares about

-Everything changing suddenly, and for the worst

Personality: Lauren is rather shy and usually prefers going unnoticed, though she does enjoy sharing art or writing when she’s finished with it. Seanne is social and likes attention, just not too much of it. Lauren works best alone or with a small, tightly-knit team (at least she believes she does). Seanne likes working with a partner or a large group. Lauren calculates and carefully thinks about her words and actions. Seanne tends to try doing the thinking and acting at the same time, though she wouldn’t act without thinking in most scenarios. When meeting new people or trying to make friends, Lauren tends to be polite and hopeful, and Seanne tends to be friendly and just a tad forward. Both are respectful . . . most of the time. Both get nervous easily.

Quirks/Habits:

-Laughs and giggles when nervous

-Is . . . passable at best with drawing attempts

-Occasionally generates onomatopoeia without trying

-Has an intense and irrational fear of falling things

-Can put away ice cream like a pro

Total Imagination: 99

History: Born in Mississippi, Lauren spent the first thirteen years of her life in one house, one town, one set of neighbors and classmates. She had a large circle of friends and was considered pretty popular among her age group. Then, when she was about to pass that line between tween and teenager, no more than a month before her birthday, her mom received a job opportunity she just couldn’t refuse . . . in Oregon. Before she knew it the family had up and moved, dumping her into a cold, unfamiliar place with cold, unfamiliar people. Her younger brother settled in just fine, finding himself some buddies with whom to race toy cars, compare Godzilla toys, and spew random trivia about whales and dinosaurs.

Lauren, on the other hand, went through a sort of shocked withdrawal period in which she just sort of zombied around, purposefully went unnoticed by as many people as possible, and threw herself into her studies to avoid dealing with everything. She tried keeping in touch with her old circle of friends, but they were moving on with their Mississippi lives and she felt out of place calling or messaging them, as she had nothing particularly interesting to tell them about and wasn’t there for anything they were talking about. She kept up her old hobby of entering magazine contests, as it was something familiar she could do without her old circle of friends, despite the fact she had never placed before and doubted she would any time soon.

Eventually one of the other shy people, a boy named Jamie (who was a year younger than everyone else, having skipped a grade in elementary school) started seeking her help in Language Arts, and the two became tentative friends. They were soon joined by Jamie’s cousin, Erika, who was barely old enough to be in the grade below them. At first the trio just helped eachother with classes, walked eachother home, and occasionally went out for ice cream together.

It wasn’t long, however, before they discovered Lauren’s hobby of writing short stories for contests via a pseudonym they had jokingly come up with for her (Gilda Hawkins) being used in a story that was honorably mentioned in said magazine. After this, the other two shared their own creative hobbies of creating and drawing characters and worlds, though both had to admit they were terrible at coming up with more than a vague plot or sub-par backstory for what they created.

After sharing and comparing ideas for a while, the three got to working on a graphic novel together in their free time, which Lauren took very seriously and worked hard on but the other two seemed to see as more of a game or leisurely activity. Due to the general slow progress on the graphic novel, Lauren started getting writerlust and began working on her own written novel when the collaborative work was slow.

She got into Archeio through a natural ‘doorway’ between two close together trees with low branches, a formation which was close enough to her house that she could go there to think about stuff and play around pretending it was a doorway to a magical realm . . . Funny how that worked out, hey?

Relationships:

Jamie White - Her first friend in Oregon, Lauren sees him almost like a second brother. He’s fun to talk to and she thinks he has some good ideas and sense when it comes to worldbuilding, as well as good taste in fandoms and hangouts (ice cream parlors).

Erika Linseed - Jamie’s cousin and Lauren’s first girl friend in Oregon, this girl is one of the bounciest people she knows. She loves talking to, at, and with Lauren, though her nigh-constant chatter can be annoying. An added bonus to this bundle of energy is the fact that she can never finish a dessert, always leaving some for certain friends and cousins to . . . assist with.

Creative Bomb -

Sir Knighthood - She doesn't like being lectured in the third person (in the third person) for an offense she wasn't even aware she was making.

Character Usage: Go for it! Keep it PG/PG13, mind you, but other than that, definitely go for it!

Availability: Monday through Friday, usually. Saturday if I'm not doing anything else, and not Sunday.

RP Preference: Notes, comments, Skype (message me for contact info). I do Lit . . . I can try script, but it may not roll quite as well.

She seems like a very balanced and believable character. Her abilities seem to help her as well as potentially hurt her. Great job!

Would it be okay if Seanne made an appearance in a short story?
